Dave Rody is a former federal prosecutor and U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) official with extensive trial and investigative experience in both the public and private sectors. Dave has served as lead counsel in 16 significant federal trials on matters ranging from insider trading and drug diversion to terrorism and capital murder. He has also directed hundreds of investigations in matters including securities fraud, bank fraud, wire fraud, money laundering, bribery, False Claims Act (FCA)/ Anti-Kickback Statute (AKS) violations, environmental offenses, obstruction of justice, and racketeering. Dave has also briefed and argued numerous appeals.

Dave focuses his practice on white collar criminal defense, civil enforcement matters, internal investigations, and complex civil litigation. Dave leverages his deep familiarity with the DOJ, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), state attorneys general, and both state and federal regulators to achieve success on behalf of his clients.

Prior to returning to private practice, Dave served as an Acting Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the Criminal Division of the DOJ, where he was responsible for overseeing various Sections, including the Fraud, Appeals, Violent Crime and Racketeering, Human Rights and Special Prosecutions, and Capital Case Sections. Dave was also detailed to an investigation authorized by Attorney General Merrick Garland and led by Special Counsel Jack Smith in 2022.

Earlier in his career, Dave served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of New York (SDNY) for over a dozen years, including as Chief of the Violent Crimes Unit.
